The Roger Barlow Perpetual Trophy goes to Sir Charles.
Three years of showing at the Sydney Royal Easter Show, and fortunate enough to have three Supreme Exhibits with 3 different animals..
The O'Hara Management Group went to Sydney with much hope after missing 2016, to be fortunate enough to take out the RAS, Roger Barlow Trophy for Best of Breed.. O'Hara Sir Charles carried the weight of the team when it came to his turn in the ring. Charlie, ( affectionately known) won his class, Senior Champion Bull, Grand Champion Bull, then backed up in the Sire's Progeny team (O'Hara Master Gerald) then finally took out the Supreme Exhibit.
Judge Rachel Wheeler, Said you just have to appreciate the sheer capacity and power of this bull, his length and depth and ease with which he walks is exactly where the breed should be heading.
Charlie's illustrious career has seen him add another Supreme Exhibit to his CV. He started of at Royal Canberra, 2016 winning Reserve Junior Champion Bull, 13mths, Grand Champion Bull, Royal Melbourne, 2016, Supreme Exhibit Royal Canberra, 2017 and Supreme Exhibit at the Sydney Royal Easter Show, 2017.
The Sydney Royal is the pinnacle of showing, being lucky enough to have the absolute best of breed is something to behold. To have the best, you have to be the best at what you breed, O'Hara Management Group has been fortunate.... Sheer hard work and dedication for the Tri-Coloured Broad Ribbon, that ultimate prize, that is what every breeder aspires to...
Most importantly for the breed moving forward, I believe, the greatest triumph was the Hordern Trophy by far.... The Lowline team consisting of Whitby Farm QT (Grand Champion Female) and O'Hara Sir Charles (Grand Champion Bull , Supreme Exhibit), being called up to the top 10. It was a pleasure to stand proudly alongside Ken & Gill Lorains (Whitby Farm Lowlines) on this occasion. Only ever been done once before, Lynda Senger and Tammy Bruer in 2011.. Lynda Senger, as proud as punch jumped on the blower and congratulated our team on our fine results. Thank you for your kind words Lynda, greatly appreciated.
Finally,
A big thank you to our hard working supervisor, the 4.00am starts, through to the 11.00pm finishes day in day out in chase of the Broad Ribbon, your wavering support through the week is commendable, so rewarding and humbling. To our son's a big thanks also for your swift call to arms when needed.. We are so proud and honoured to be parents of such fine young adults, so very lucky and extremely grateful...
To Tahlia Bruce, Victoria, and Brodie Kelly, Thank you to you both for all your help and advise, much appreciated...
A big congrats to you Tahlia with all your commitments with Victorian Breeders and success and being called up to the top ten in the Hordern Trophy, well deserved...
O'Hara on display at the Canberra Royal Show, 2017
The O'Hara Management Group underwent some great changes in their Master Breed Plan and presented some fabulous specimens at the recent Canberra Royal. Most of the new look Lowline's were on display for all to see with spectacular results.. Our Supreme Exhibit winner, O'Hara Sir Charles, coming of the back of the Grand Champion Bull , at the Royal Melbourne Show, 2016 matched it with the big guns in the Interbreed.
Sir Charles equalled the Angus Bulls score of 24 placing both bulls just out of the top 7 bulls at the show, a phenomenal result for the Lowline breed, breeding forward. Placing up there with large animals at a Royal Interbreed says so much about the O'Hara genetics, it says a great deal more about the depth of the O'Hara Stud.
The Management Group sent a relatively new and inexperienced team to Canberra with excellent results in all classes they entered. Miss Sue-Ellen, 8 months old, proved herself worthy of consideration in future shows as did Charleston 12 months old.
The young heifer Katie Scarlett, at her second show took out the Champion Junior Female, coming of the Reserve Junior Champion Female at the Royal Melbourne Show, 2016. We are very thrilled for Sir Charles, born a twin, was just magnificent on the day.. Senior Champion, Grand Champion, Supreme Exhibit and The Tammy Bruer Memorial Trophy for best of Breed, 2017.
Sire's Progeny (O'Hara Master Gerald) was represented by Sir Charles (TW), Charleston and Miss Sue-Ellen. Judge Ian Durkin said all three animal from the senior bull to the young heifer all had great length and depth, they were all structurally sound, they just float when they walk and these traits have carried through presented before him.
The Breeders Group, 2 x bulls & 1 x female was represented by SIr Charles, (TW)), Charleston & Katie Scarlett, they took out 1st place.
These excellent results would not be possible if not for the hard work that goes into preparing these animals. A huge thank you to our little supervisor who is like an ever-ready battery, she just keeps on keeping on. Jayden Nicols, thanks again champ, great job working with the O'Hara Show Team in the Breeders Group and Sires' progeny and the behind the scenes help as well, greatly appreciated.
The young ladies from Southern Cross Speckle Park Stud, Dana & Lucy for helping out as well. Lovely to see you as well Gemma Lees great to see you out there again in the Grand Parade...

Sir Charles is ready to spread his wings.
O'Hara Management Group is please to announce the sale of one of our Champion Bulls, O'Hara Sir Charles.
Affectionately know as Charlie, he is an exceptional working bull that is very keen to go over other female Lowlines. Stud Masters wanting to complement their herd with more height, length and depth, doing ability as well as being structurally sound would be hard pressed to go past this young bull.
Charlie is the son of the most successful Lowline bull in Australia, O'Hara Master Gerald. Sir Charles will be on display at the Royal Canberra and Sydney Royal Easter Shows were he will be ready and able to meet new friends thereafter.
Enquiries can be made via the email [email protected]

December, 2016
December is always a business time of the year with calves being born. Opal our matriarch has produced a stunning heifer this time round. Giving birth to Miss Careen, 28 kgs, Opal had no trouble what so ever with her delivery during her mid morning brunch. Carreen has the sweetest personality and is very advanced for her age which seems to be common with the chosen bloodlines.
Genvieve another brilliant breeding cow produced a beautiful heifer, Miss Robillard. A long heifer that will grow into herself and should produce excellent result in the show ring as well as the paddock in the coming years graced us with her presence a couple of days later, who was also of great weigh on delivery.
Little Atlanta was born a week later, thankfully he survived falling into the pond on delivery. Angelica was not too careful when he decided to arrive, he is showing great progress and we look forward to his progression from showing to producing great calves in the future. He has a wonderful personality, he is docile and charming at the same time... His Sire is the Grand Champion Bull, Royal Melbourne, 2016.

There continues to be much evidence O'Hara has the genetics' right when it comes to breeding bulls of superb quality.
A big congratulations to Sir Charles (TW), taking out Senior and Grand Champion Bull at Royal Melbourne, 2016. Affectionately known as Charlie, ably taking the Grand Champion Bull reins from his father, Master Gerald.
Charlie commanded the judges attention from the get go, whilst he had the goods, (muscle coverage, great length and the right amount of fat coverage) which is very hard to achieve let alone have it in the one animal, he was in magnificent condition to take out the ultimate prize.
Katie Scarlett, a full sister to Master Gerald obtained Reserve Junior Champion Female at her first show.

Gosh so much has happened the last six months with excellent youngsters arriving all over the place. Xotic one of our matrons delivering a little gem, Miss Sue - Ellen came as such a welcomed surprise. We could not understand why she always looked so miserable, now we know why. A delightful docile temperament, very easy to manage, just a darling little treat. We look forward to her progress through the coming months and marvellous as it seems Xotic is looking better and better and plains have been put in place for her to go again...
We are looking to our super mum delivering another potential champion, after her superb bull calf earlier this year along with her big sisters' Katie Scarlett and My lady , Opal continues to produce the goods time and time again. Opal along with Tanhausser what a mating, females all of similar temperament and the bulls having the wonderful docile temperaments makes for an excellent mating.

Young Charleston born mid February on a warm summers' day. His Dam is O'Hara Genvieve and the Sire is Master Gerald. We look forward to showcasing him at Royal Canberra in 2017. He has the docility and personality of Gerald and will continue to grow out as expected from the gene pool of past Champions.

What a lovely surprise for Kristy Wilbow (new member, 2015) and her young family today waking to a much awaited bundle of joy. Miss Geraldine, purchased earlier this year with her calf a foot has delivered an exceptionally healthy young man (yet to be named) at 5.00am. Master Gerald continues to deliver bulls of distinction and this little bull calf is no exception. We look forward to your progress with your new herd Kristy.. Congratulations and well done...

The Royal Melbourne Show, 2015
Master Gerald had to earn his spot, they have all come out today to take on the big fella who has it all, and the big guy has come out on top, were the sweet words of Judge Erica Halliday. He has everything you could possibly want in a Sire and he is a good looking rooster as well.
The superlatives just kept coming and coming. Master Gerald, Grand Champion Australian Lowline Bull, what an achievement, three years in a row at The Royal Melbourne Show. Gerald weighed in at 726kgs, his EMA 104 sq cms', Rump 24, Rib 14.

The First Calf this Spring.
Wouldn't you know it when one thought it was all quite on the western front a calf is born. Not just any calf, our new addition, the first this Spring is none other than a full sister to the Champion Bull Master Gerald. It was a superb spring morning when little Katie Scarlet arrived. Affectionately known as Kat, our dainty little beauty has not been weighed however a wheel barrow ride to the scales is imminent. Kat weighed in at 28 kgs.

The Master has semen available.
Master Gerald on the ALCA Semen Registry. At 26 months of age and an EMA of 100 Gerald packs a punch according to Di Woods a Angus breeder from the far north coast of NSW, when she first saw him. Be sure to consider semen from a true Champion, a real meat machine with Sire appeal written all over his face. |

The Sydney Royal Easter Show, 2015
Master of the Lowline Ring.
The Sydney Royal Easter Show was always going to belong to the master of the game, Master Gerald. Judge Michael O'Sullivan said; this big fella commands your presence when he walks into the ring. He is structurally sound, great length and depth, he has good feet and legs and lovely soft pastines and plenty of coverage, he really has a great deal to offer the breed with and EMA of 100 at 26 months when he sashed Gerald with the Senior & Grand Champion Bull before going on to win the Best Exhibit. At the Interbreed Judge Mrs Erica Halliway commended Gerald in similar fashion.
Thank you to young Ryan Bajada who led out our 2014 Supreme Exhibit and again in 2015. A big congratulations to you champ, third in the National Judging Competition at 16 years of age what a fantastic effort. Keep up the good work.

Little Chaps Settle in and the Summer breeding season comes to an end.
The summer drop is now completed with some very exciting mating's indeed.
Angelica's calf has arrived.......
That was an arduous task for Miss Angelica our Sydney Supreme Champion from 2014.......
The day started with the arrival of Master Lawrence, then the long drawn out wait for Angelica to deliver the her little fella Sir Claudius. Both mother and calf doing well now Ange has had a big drink. We will give her some time to settle down and recovery lost energy. Well done Ange that was hard work.. |
Here we Go again... Another big boy.......

A boy for first time mum, Miss Geraldine..............

Before the heat of the day took hold little Harry arrived without too much fuss. The paddock was full of interested women wanting the first look at the big fella and his first time mum, Miss Geraldine. The big guy was on his feet within minutes of being born exploring in all the wrong places. Sleeping close to the water was where he wanted to be, not acceptable. He has made his way to the maternity ward to bunk down with Charlie. Charlie took one look at Harry knocked him out of the way to get to his mum's teats. Charlie will now reside with the herd.
When Charlie met Gerald....
![Picture](/uploads/1/5/1/5/15155368/9355122.jpg?349)
Charlie and Gerald had some quality time
together with no interference from others wanting to adopt and guide him
through the challenges of life. What a difference a couple of weeks make,
Charlie is gaining weight at the expected rate, thriving beyond expectations.

Xotic and her little man, Sir Charles...
Xotic is a picture of health and very chilled a week after the twins were born. Charles her first born is a wonderful calf, easy going- non demanding and happy in his own space as is mum.. Xotic is in love with her little charge doing her absolute best to nourish him whilst very accepting of outside help. |

“Stone
the Crows", "Little Eddie is in trouble”
Day 2, And it Looks as though Charles & Eddie are no longer paddock buddies.. Charles will remain in the maternity ward however Eddie has had his accommodation upgraded to intensive care. The heat is just a little too much for the little fellow, mum’s milk is not enough for both chaps therefore Eddie will be given additional tender loving care.
"Who wouldn’t love little Eddie"...
Day 6 and Little Eddie says Bye Bye; After much struggle Little Eddie passed away peacefully last night.

A much waited "Plus One" turned into "Plus Two" Xotic and Master Gerald are the proud parents of two healthy bull calves born 30 minutes apart on January 7. Xotic one of our senior matrons, had no problem delivering her sons early this evening under the bright full moon. Shock and jubilation was some of the feelings roaming the paddock then reality starts to emerge, how on earth are they going to survive, mum is 13 years old.. Sir Charles, 19 kgs and Mr Edward, 17 kgs did survive the night, they thawed out in the morning sun, had a little drink from the bottle and left to rest in the shade. |
Wonders never cease.........

IT WAS ALL ABOUT THE GEE.. Master Gerald, Supreme
Exhibit 2 years in a row.....
Master Gerald first Supreme Exhibit as a senior.....
It only seemed like yesterday that we attended our first Royal Show, now, 12 months later, in attendance again. Master Gerald, 22 month old did not miss a beat as he marched around the ring, to our delight he impressed Judge Peter Falls, Finley, NSW as well. Gerald's weight on the day was 608 kgs, (EMA) 90, Rump Fat 19 & Rib Fat 18. Judge Falls emphasised his sire ability, good feet and legs and length and depth. The superlatives kept coming from Mr. Falls throughout the duration of judging, he is all meat and just out muscled the others on the day. Gerald went on to win Small Breed Interbreed, Senior Champion Bull. |

OMG!!!!!!! Miss Vivienne, has finally arrived.....
Miss Vivienne arrived without fuss during the early hours of September 21. What a little sweetie, She is not the least bit terrified of being handled, in fact Gerald was very similar when he was born. He is seen cuddling his little charge being very mindful of how delicate his first calf is....
Master Gerald went to Melbourne last year as a 10 month old calf to take out the Supreme Exhibit & the Small Breed Interbreed Junior Champion Bull, this year he heads back to Melbourne this month, as a 22 month old dad.
Miss Vivienne is loving the attention from anyone wanting to nurse her, however, her loud moo re-enforces the fact she is no push over. A couple of days is needed for her to fill out. Xceed is very placid which shows in her little calf, she too is tickled pink with her new baby, having a lot more milk this time round giving little 23 kg Miss Vivienne every opportunity to thrive....

O'Hara does it again at the Sydney Royal Easter Show.
It was certainly an honour and a privilege to be fortunate enough to have our stud buying for the ultimate Prize. Miss Angelica, Grand Champion Female and Master Gerald, our thrice Grand Champion Bull, both juniors. Miss Angelica was highly praised by Judge Kristelle Ridley, Condobolin, NSW, who fell in love with her from the get go, she was the youngest in her class and came out on top in the junior class. Judge Ridley said, she has a smoothness and refinement through the shoulders and front end, that's when we believed it was always going to be a ladies day.
Miss Angelica, "Supreme Exhibit".
Master Gerald has surpassed all expectations thus far, he is a magnificent bull, now, 17 months old, his run at the shows are extremely impressive having won the supreme exhibit at the last Melbourne and Canberra Show. He captivated Judge Ridley's attention as he freely moved around the ring with confidence and charisma. "He has volume and he is the overall package" Ms Ridley said. "It's that raw meat in that muscle that's getting over the line today". Master Gerald, "Grand Champion Bull".
We would like to thank Paul Hourn, Victoria, for his fabulous job fitting our cattle for all 3 shows. All the work you do behind the scenes is greatly appreciated. Melissa, another great performance parading Gerald backing up from Canberra, thank you.
Daniel, thank you champion, your patience under pressure at the clipping frame will hold you in good steed in the future. A big shout out to you Ryan, congratulations young man a sterling job in the show ring, 15 years old, a supreme exhibit under your belt what a performance. Young Matt Cooney, Victoria, thank you as well for parading our Grand Champion Bull, Master Gerald, 489 kgs at the interbreed. Both boys had a gruelling day taking on the big boys in the Interbreed, parading between the big Angus bull and the beef Shorthorn breathing down your neck can be a little daunting, however you both took it in your stride and never put a foot wrong the entire day.

"Master Gerald takes out Supreme Exhibit at Royal Canberra".
Second time in the show ring Master Gerald did not disappoint. Five months after winning the Supreme Exhibit in Melbourne, Gerald certainly gained the attention of Judge, Mr Tim Bailey and his daughter.
Tim Bailey said, Gerald was a superb example of what we are looking for to progress the breed on, we are beef producers after all . He is at the top end of his breed, height wise, however you could not go wrong breeding from this magnificent bull. He is very structurally sound and could easily take his weight on his hind legs, he is all beef.
Not to be out done on her first appearance, Miss Angelica won Reserve Champion Junior Female at 9 months of age which is an excellent result for such a young heifer.
A big shout out to Paul Hourn, Victoria, for your continued support and to thank you for superbly fitting our cattle once again. Thank you also to Melissa who paraded both animals for our Stud. A great show was had by all.

had the best first outing in the show ring you could ask for, winning supreme lowline exhibit.
It was the first time both our stud and our Grand Champion Bull O’Hara Master Gerald had exhibited at a show, and our Junior Champion Bull certainly impressed judge Michael Ireland, Buln Buln, Victoria.
Mr Ireland said he was very pleased with the young calf as the Junior Champion. Beautiful depth of body, good legs and feet, beautiful head, outlook, the way he carries himself, a real little meat machine, this little fella, 10 months old don't forget, 349 kilo's, a real little beauty. The little calf just out muscled the other bull today, he holds himself superbly; he is a real credit to the exhibitor.
Gerald went on to win Small Breed Interbreed Junior Champion Bull. A big thank you to Paul & Paris Hourn & Pat Halloran for an excellent job fitting and parading Gerald during the course of the show.

Well done mum.
